If you ask me whether this Government is to be thrown out, my answer is yes. However, if you ask me whether this Government should survive this No-Confidence motion, I would answer YES! Either you get confused or would label me as inconsistent! This is the irony of the situation and we are helpless!
One is not sure that how many of the 534 representatives of our country are thoroughly aware of nuclear deal on which debates will start from this morning at our Parliament. One is also not sure, how many of them will contribute constructively. While this is the status of the elected representatives, I leave it to you for imagining about the status of an aam aadmi. Even a lot among the so-called educated elites of India are not clear regarding this subject.
We cannot expect aam aadmi to be an expert in this regard as this is not his primary concern that affects his day-today’s life. When potatoes cost him over Rs20/- a kg and onions cost him Rs12/- a kg, how can we expect him to express concern on nuclear deal? Monthly expenses of a family has rose by 20~25% in the last quarter without any considerable increment in his salary. When he is getting tired of exploring cost-cutting exercises, he has no time to read about or understand this nuclear deal.
Yes. I want this Government to go that has done nothing regarding the ever-increasing inflation. The Government had not acted in a pro-active manner but remained still without even doing a fore-thinking exercise on the happenings! Congress came to power by riding back on aam aadmi but forgot to reciprocate this gesture.
They added the burden of aam aadmi by waiving loans of farmers thus encouraging dishonesty (it rewarded payment defaulters and honest payers were penalized), just to appease a portion of the population (read Central Govt employees) they added more burden to aam aadmi by revising their pay.
When an Islamic Indian was arrested on basis of suspicion, our Prime Minister lost his sleep but pretended to be slept when Islamic terrorists ripped India apart from time and again. The rulers were ready to allow spoil India but were not ready to antagonize Muslims.
The Government in the name of boosting agriculture did not pay attention to develop infra structure but take the leaf of generating power as to talk in favor of nuclear deal. This Government was sleeping on this nuclear deal for two years and now pretends to act tough as if they are decisive and not weak. After living almost full term, the show of acting tough might not go well with people. If the Government was so clear in this deal, why it had been misleading its coalition partners and the common public all along?
The government did not think of having discussions, let alone a debate in this regard in Parliament for so long. Now they would like to pose a picture to the common public that they are ready to sacrifice power for the sake of nation’s interest. I wish they explain us what do they mean by nation’s interest?
-
Just do nothing when the inflation hits your roof?
-
Just do nothing when aam aadmi goes clueless to manage his household activities with price rise?
-
Just do nothing when terrorists take things for granted and keep damaging our country?
-
Just do nothing for 2 years, misguide all and pretend to act tough when situation arises of throwing you out?
This Government deserves to be thrown out for reasons mentioned above. However, I want this government to survive this trust vote exercise for two reasons. Signing this deal would be in favor our country. It will help us in future. The second reason is, if this Government falls now, it will gain the image of a martyr, who laid himself for the sake of nation’s interest whereas this government is not one.
Based on the present conditions, this government is all set to lose the next elections, however, if they get defeated in this trust vote, they will gain sympathy, and another six months delay will be beneficial to them as the public memory is very short. I reiterate, this Government deserves to be thrown out but allow it to survive this trust vote exercise. Politics is politics. They are not fighting on the nation's interest nor they do on aam aadmi's interest. They are doing this for personal interest.
